The Confederation of Employers of Ukraine presented at a HR conference Ukraine’s first training course on the development of an internal policy for adaptation of employees with disabilities. The course is oriented on enterprise heads and HR specialists. Olena Stepanenko, expert at the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, told about the Razom platform functionality during a business coffee organized  by the HR Brand Ukraine Award. The event united HR directors and CEOs of leading companies.

Olena Stepanenko told about the Razom Platform where the most complete practical guide on employment of persons with disabilities is placed. This year, recommendations concerning the development and implementation of an internal corporate policy on integration of persons with disabilities will be placed on the Platform. The recommendations are to help employees with disabilities get adapted at the workplace and to assist the work team in establishing effective cooperation with new team members. The training course and the Recommendations have been developed have by the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine within the framework of the project "Establishing a consultative system for the integration of persons with disabilities into the workplace". This project is implemented with the support of the International Labour Organization’s initiative funded by the Government of Belgium, titled "ILO Support to Ukraine: prevention of labour exploitation and human trafficking, support to entrepreneurship development and social partners" as well as the ILO RBSA project "Promoting inclusive and sustainable reconstruction in Ukraine".

“Employees having disabilities are more loyal to their companies and do their work more diligently. Staff turnover among employees with disabilities is twice less than at the enterprise as a whole, according to a survey held by the Confederation of Employers”, Olena Stepanenko said.

“It is a pleasure to see that the DEI principle – diversity, equality and inclusion – is becoming a part of a new culture, from large international companies to small business. It’s about levels and fair conditions for anyone: youth, elderly candidates, young mothers, persons with disabilities, and veterans. These approaches change not only teams and corporate culture but also the country’s labour market and culture. DEI shapes trust, and enables everyone to be heard”, said Larysa Onypko, the HR Brand Ukraine Award.

“All Ukrainians wishing to work should have an opportunity to find a decent job. As estimated by the Confederation of Employers, about three million people in Ukraine can enter the labour market. That would allow to decrease the labour market gap. And Ukrainians who find jobs will obtain a possibility for decent life”, Oksana Medvedska, Executive Director at the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, noted.
